3 Card Poker - Guide to three Card Poker

Playing 3 card poker or Casino Brag is very popular and easy to play after you get used to it. For a total beginner though, the rules are a little more complex than expected
(a little different to hold em poker) and take a little explaining

There are two main ways in which to win in 3 card poker .

1. PAIR PLUS which is a side bet and not against the dealer.
2. Doubling up with ANTE and PLAY against the dealer.

The betting starts with

with a player placing a bet on the ante only, or on both the ante and the pair plus. As mentioned the pair plus bet is a side bet and can be considered a totally seperate bet.

The cards are dealt, 3 cards to each player and 3 cards for the dealer. At this point the player will know the result of his/her pair plus bet and the payout for this in the casino where I work is as follows

PAIR 1:1

FLUSH 4:1

STRAIGHT 6:1

3 OF A KIND 33:1

STRAIGHT FLUSH 35:1

Having looked at his/her cards, the player then has the option to play or fold. If the player has hit any pair plus hand then they should play because not only will they be paid their pair plus but also chance are that they will have beaten the dealer.

When making the decision to play, the player must then MATCH the ante bet that they originally placed - in effect double their bet. This is the maximum and only bet possible.

If the player has no hand at all then they can still decide to play, hoping the dealer will have no hand - DOESNT QUALIFY. If the delear has no hand e.g. no better than jack high, then everyones play bet stands/is returened and everybodys ante bet is paid
